About Justin Riley
Justin started dancing Lindy Hop over a decade ago in Lawrence, Kansas, USA. Since then he has studied, danced, and taught over a dozen forms of dances in over 30 countries, and continues to bring the influences of these styles to every class, DJ set, and dance he does. Five years ago Justin fell in love with the Blues and Alternative-Blues movement and has not looked back. Each of Justin’s classes utilizes coursework that not only refines the fundamentals of Blues-based partnership but also inspires ongoing creativity in his students. He teaches the vocabulary through which we communicate (connection, posture, frame, and musicality) and then grants the freedom necessary to emote and create! Justin is the organizer and founder of Blues Recess Events, he has placed in numerous competitions (including third at both Blues Shout and Emerald City Blues), and commits himself to the progress of partnered dancing as a living, growing, and ever-changing cultural movement.
